Littlefield Tennis is a Seacoast NH area tennis instructional business that was looking for a Web site designed around their specific needs.
The site was created using a customized Adobe® Dreamweaver template that validates to the Worldwide Web Consortium (W3C) XHTML and CSS standards. It also contains a feature called “Coach’s Corner”, which is actually an embedded WordPress blog.
Littlefield Tennis needed a way to gain more exposure to the public. With youth and adult tennis lessons in several seacoast NH towns, communicating scheduling and program offerings were a tedious over-the-phone or word-of-mouth process. Registration forms had to be requested and mailed or picked up at the town recreation center or town office. With their new web site, schedules, programs and location information is only a click away. Registration forms can now be downloaded electronically, printed, filled out and returned with payment in a fraction of the time that was previously required.
To preserve a uniform appearance, all of the location pages shared a common template and all of the staff biography pages were generated with a different common template as well. Aside from the obvious alignment with the site’s theme, a significant advantage to this template-based approach is that new locations or staff members can be added to the site fairly easily. The master site template can be used to modify site-wide elements such as the header and footer.
You may also notice the small custom “LT” tennis ball cursor that replaces the traditional mouse cursor unless a link is hovered over, in which case a conventional pointer reappears. The site also incorporates a custom Google Site Search tool.
